In fact, recent developments suggest the opposite:

Contract Extension and National Championship Victory

In February 2025, Ohio State extended Ryan Day’s contract through the 2031 season, reportedly worth $12.5 million annually.

This extension came after Day led the Buckeyes to a national championship victory, defeating Notre Dame 34–23 in the College Football Playoff final.

This triumph marked Ohio State’s ninth national title and first since 2014 .

Day’s Commitment to Ohio State

Following a loss to Michigan in December 2024, there were questions about Day’s future at Ohio State.
